Getting Started

What is Diterr?

Diterr is a visual design and form‑building platform that allows you to create interactive templates – flyers, forms, surveys, and more – without writing any code. You can design layouts using drag‑and‑drop, add form fields, validate user input, and share your templates with a single link.

Do I need to know how to code?

No. Diterr is designed for designers, marketers, and anyone who wants to create professional templates without programming. Everything is visual – you drag elements onto the canvas, customize them in the Properties Panel, and publish with one click.

How do I create my first template?

  1. Click "New Template" from the dashboard or the editor toolbar.
  2. Add elements using the toolbar at the bottom of the canvas (Text, Image, Shape, Frame).
  3. Customize elements using the Properties Panel on the right.
  4. Add form fields by selecting an element and clicking "Edit Field".
  5. Preview your template using the Preview button.
  6. Publish using the Export button to generate a shareable link.

Can I edit a template after publishing?

Yes. You can edit your template at any time. Changes you make will be reflected in the published version (unless you have already generated a share link, in which case you may need to regenerate it or update the share settings).

Elements & Design

Why can't I select an element?

  • The element may be locked. Look for a lock icon in the Layers Panel or Properties Panel. Unlock it by clicking the lock icon.
  • The element may be hidden behind another element. Use the Layers Panel to select it by clicking its name.
  • You may be in preview mode. Exit preview mode to return to the editor.

Why does my element disappear when I drag it?

  • If the element is inside a Frame, it may be clipped because it extends beyond the Frame's bounds. Resize the Frame or adjust the element's position.
  • The element may have been moved off the canvas. Use the Layers Panel to select it and reposition it manually.

How do I nest elements inside a Frame?

  • Drag and drop – click and drag an element onto the Frame. The element will become a child of the Frame.
  • Select Frame + Add – select the Frame, then click an "Add" button from the toolbar. The new element will be placed inside the Frame.

How do I unnest an element from a Frame?

Drag out – drag the element outside the Frame's bounds. The element will become a root element (or be reparented to the next container if dropped inside another Frame).

What is the difference between a Frame and a Group?

  • Frame – a permanent container with its own background, border, padding, and clipping behavior. Frames can hold children and are visible in the Layers Panel.
  • Group – a temporary grouping of elements for movement or scaling. Groups do not have their own styling and are not visible in the Layers Panel.

How do I lock an element?

Select the element and toggle the Lock checkbox in the Properties Panel. Locked elements cannot be selected, moved, resized, or deleted.

Fields & Forms

What is a field?

A field is an element that has been configured to interact with data. Fields can be Labels (static text), Inputs (interactive fields), or Label & Input (a combination of both). They are used to collect, display, or process user input.

Why is my Input not showing up in the form?

  • Make sure the element has been converted to an Input. Select it, click "Edit Field", and set the Field Type to Input or Label & Input.
  • Check that the Input has a Field Name – this is required for the data to be submitted.
  • If the Input is inside a Frame, ensure the Frame is not locked.

How do I make a field required?

  1. Select the element.
  2. Click "Edit Field".
  3. If the Field Type is Input or Label & Input, locate the Validation section.
  4. Toggle the Required checkbox.

How do I add options to a Select, Radio, or Checkbox field?

  1. Select the element.
  2. Click "Edit Field".
  3. Set the Field Type to Input or Label & Input.
  4. Choose Select, Radio, or Checkbox as the Input Type.
  5. In the Options field, enter each option on a new line.

What input types are supported?

Diterr supports: Textbox, Textarea, Select (Dropdown), Radio, Checkbox, File Upload, Number, Email, Tel (Telephone), URL, Date (with date picker), and Time.

What date formats are supported?

You can choose from a variety of date formats including: YYYY-MM-DD, DD-MM-YYYY, MM-DD-YYYY, MMMM Do, YYYY, Do MMMM, YYYY, dddd, MMMM Do YYYY, and many more.

Publishing & Sharing

How do I publish a template?

  1. Open the template in the editor.
  2. Click the Export button in the toolbar.
  3. Fill in the template name and description.
  4. Configure additional settings (password, expiry, view limits, etc.).
  5. Click "Export & Generate Link".
  6. The share link will be generated and copied to your clipboard.

Why is my share link not working?

  • The link may have expired – check the expiry date.
  • The link may have exceeded its view limit – check the view limit setting.
  • The link may have been revoked – check the share settings.
  • The template may have been deleted – if the template is gone, the link will no longer work.

How do I password‑protect a template?

When publishing, check the Password option and enter a password. Users will need to enter this password to view the template.

How do I set an expiry date?

When publishing, select an expiry date from the date picker. The link will stop working at midnight on that date.

How do I allow users to download the template?

When publishing, enable the Allow Download option. Users will see a download button when viewing the template.

How do I revoke a share link?

  1. Go to the Templates page.
  2. Locate the template with the active share.
  3. Open the Share Modal.
  4. Click "Revoke" or "Delete".
  5. Confirm the action.

How to improve performance:

  • Optimize images – compress images before uploading.
